WINTER 2025: Copying Ready to Wear

Course Description

Students in CRTW learn how to copy existing garments. This is a necessary skill for those looking for a career in costuming or as a patternmaker in the ready-to-wear industry, or for the home sewer. Who doesn’t have that favorite garment that needs an update or to be re-sized? Students will copy three garments (a button-down shirt, and two other garments of their choosing) using three different copying methods. Expect three hours of optional homework between classes. Prerequisite: Some patternmaking knowledge would be helpful. Class meets once a week for eight weeks. Cost: $299 Class size: 12-15 students All classes are online through Zoom. Class recordings are available to students for eight weeks after the session ends. Refund Policy: Full refund if cancellation request is received seven days or more before the start date of the class. No refunds within seven days of the start date.
