WINTER 2025: Grading (Sizing) Patterns

Course Description

Students learn to hand grade (size) patterns up one size and down once size. Learning the principles of grading will give you a clear understanding of how patterns are graded in the fashion industry. Students grade a skirt, pants, short bodice, long torso, sleeve, collar and pocket. Detailed information on how to work with a grader is presented as is a discussion on how size charts are developed in the fashion industry. Expect two hours of optional homework between classes. Prerequisite: None Class meets once a week for four weeks. Cost: $149 + Materials fee: $15 (includes shipping within the US). Additional shipping fees will be charged for deliveries outside the US. Class size: 12-15 students All classes are online through Zoom. Class recordings are available to students for eight weeks after the session ends. Refund Policy: Full refund if cancellation request is received seven days or more before the start date of the class. No refunds within seven days of the start date.
